This blanket captures the mood of the Pacific Northwest in a dynamic contrast between soft shades of blue, green, and grey—reminiscent of the sky, mountains, and beautiful seas of our region—and sharp-edged symbols in black and white--reminders of the competitive tech industry which lives here now, too. Tiny red birds in a wintry landscape (in “Woodland Winter” by Michael Miller Fabrics), bring a note of poignancy to the quilt’s aesthetic, suggesting that the Northwesterner’s isolation may be overcome in nature.
The backing is a grey flannel that resembles falling rain, designed by DearStella. The grey cotton border and old-fashioned blue and white flowered binding fabric accentuate the gentle vibe.
Includes recycled flannel shirts and a black vintage flannel in “Western Pacific” design, showing images of back-country hiking, canoeing, and camping.
Thin 100% polyester batting keeps it light but warm.
Machine-quilted, finished by hand
48" x 75": Sized for use as a couch throw or coverlet for a single bed
